Antoine C. Lucas, Sr.

Pastor/Teacher

Pastor Antoine C. Lucas, Sr., was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He received his formal education in the Pike County School System where he graduated from Pike High School. After graduation he spent a brief stint in the United States Army. After his enlistment in the Army was complete, he enrolled and graduated from the DeVry Institute, Atlanta, Georgia. He briefly attended Beulah Heights Bible College, Atlanta, Georgia in 1994. Pastor Lucas plans to pursue his Masters Degree in Biblical Education at the Interdenominational Theological Center on the Morehouse College Campus, Atlanta, Georgia.

Pastor Lucas began his ministry at the Mount Hope Baptist Church, Zebulon, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor R. L. Hodo. While serving at Mount Hope he held the office of Youth Minister, Assistant Pastor and Adult Bible Study Instructor. In 2003 he was appointed to be the Assistant to the Pastor at the Eighth Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Walter C. James. On Sunday, December 5, 2004, Pastor Lucas was officially installed into the office of Pastor of the Eighth Street Baptist Church. Since becoming Pastor, the membership is gradually growing. Attendance in the weekly Bible Study is increasing weekly. He has continued to teach and preach God’s word with clarity and effectiveness. And the ministries of the church are becoming stronger and the numbers are increasing as well.

Pastor Lucas has four beautiful children: Antoinee’, Ariyanna, Briyanna, and Antoine Caleb Lucas, II.
